Check out the custom work on this 31 Fountain offshore center console boat. If you would like some custom SeaDek work on your boat make sure to contact Castaway Customs.

Got a call from a customer who wanted to deck out pretty much his entire 31 Fountain. The offshore center console was pretty much gutted when he purchased it so he was rebuilding the way he wanted to adding some nice custom touches. The boat was recently wrapped so the customer wanted something darker and brighter than our stock caribbean blue color to help accent his boat wrap. Fortunately we had enough of a custom color laying around to make what he wanted. A few nice features on this boat are the thicker helm pad with the Fountain logo to offer more cushioning and comfort while driving. We also decided to cover the floor, steps, and cuddy area with 8mm foam which was a combination of the 3mm brighter blue over our 5mm stock caribbean blue. This not only helps reduce fatigue, but also works excellent as a traction. Another very popular option I have done on several boats lately is a pad for the top of the console. This helps to keep things like your iPhone from sliding around when underway. If you are interested in having custom SeaDek designed and installed you can contact me at tyler@castawaycustoms.com.

Castaway Customs is your source for custom SeaDek work. Whether you own a sportfishing yacht or just a tender for one.

Castaway Customs just finished a trip down to Islamorada to install custom SeaDek on a Maverick HPX-V sitting on the bow of a Garlington. The boat captain was tired of slipping on the nonskid and looking for something to make those long days fishing more comfortable. We decide to deck out everything to give the boat a fresh new look. We decided to go with a cool gray over storm gray to give it a nice subtle look. The original carpet in the skiff, although not that old, was starting to fall off and look a little dingy so we also decide to upgrade to SeaDek on the undergunnels. This is a very popular option on the Maverick line of boats and any flats boat really. We also decked out a couple of Yeti Coolers with Hogfish logos on them for the boat. Keep checking back in for a write up on the cockpit of the big boat. We are working on a neat job for her. If you are interested in getting any custom SeaDek work done on your boat, no matter how big or small, feel free to contact me at tyler@castawaycustoms.com

Custom SeaDek designed and installed by Castaway Customs will make any boat more comfortable to fish out of while providing excellent traction no matter the size of your boat.

Captain Troy Sapp is a fishing guide based out of West Central Florida fishes what they call the Nature Coast of Florida. He guides out of a Maverick 21′ Master Angler as well as this Rampage 34′ Express. He wanted to know if the SeaDek product could dampen the growl of 920 HP diesels under the floor. The sound deadening ability is one characteristic of SeaDek that is often overlooked or forgot about. From a large Sportfish or express style boat like Troy’s Rampage to a small flats boat or skiff, SeaDek definitely quiets a boat down. He also was looking for something with comfort and traction which SeaDek also provides. After deciding upon the colors I made a trip back over to install the boat. The pictures don’t do the boat justice. The marlin logo designed by Boldwater really sets the boat off. The black border around the beach sand is a very nice color combination which really pops also. The boat looked like a brand new boat after it was installed. For more info on getting custom SeaDek for your boat contact Castaway Customs at 321-537-2039 or shoot me an email at tyler@castawaycustoms.com.

Intrepid Boats known for their luxury style cruising/fishing boats now just got a little nicer. With a custom SeaDek floor kit designed and installed by Castaway Customs, you can make any boat look better. Contact tyler@castawaycustoms.com for more info.

I was recently up in New England area for about a week or so working on some projects. This 32′ Intrepid was one of the boats that I installed SeaDek on. The faux teak has become pretty popular lately so we ordered a few different versions of faux teak. This particular version had the holly as the planking with the teak grooves. To be honest, I wasn’t really sure how the holly over teak was going to look in the boat, but after the install it was clear that the customer had made the right color choice. With the engines painted white and tan accents in the coaming bolsters and cushions, the flooring looked great and really tied into the look of the boat. The customer decided to add the Intrepid logo on the pad going to into the cabin and also on a hatch behind the helm of the boat. We even did the interior floor of the cabin. This boat is used primarily as a family cruising boat and the non skid had become very slippery over the years so the customer was concerned about his kids slipping and getting hurt. Like all SeaDek products, the faux teak also provides excellent traction and makes for a more safe and enjoyable boating experience. If you are interest in getting some faux teak SeaDek in your boat feel free to call me at 321-537-2039 or email me at tyler@castawaycustoms.com.

Chris Walter of Get Bent Sportfishing out of Hawks Cay Marina in Duck Key Florida. Chris restored an older 23′ SeaCraft and had some customers complaining about needing bolster pads while fighting fish so your thighs and legs don’t hurt at the end of a long day on the water. Chris contacted me and wanted to get some custom SeaDek coaming bolster pads designed so I had him pull some basic measurements off of the boat and I cut and shipped the pads down to him. With the easy peel and stick application, it makes applying the pads very simple. You don’t have to worry about drilling any holes in the boat at all. If you are interested in getting a set of custom coaming bolster pads made for your boat contact Castaway Customs at 321-537-2039 or shoot me an email to tyler@castawaycustoms.com.

Another custom SeaDek job designed by Castaway Customs for a South Florida fishing boat.

I met Capt. Steven Tejera of Knot Tight Charters a while ago while traveling throughout South Florida working. Steven is a young captain who is passionate about fishing and knows the waters of South Florida and the Keys offshore and inshore. This is the offshore boat he runs and wanted to make the boat a little more comfortable for those long days on the water. He primarily uses the boat for sailfishing so we had Boldwater create us a custom sailfish logo for the boat. The custom logos are a nice way to make your boat a little different from the next. Castaway Customs can add boat names, fish designs, or almost any logos to your pads. Capt. Steven was extremely happy with the job and will be doing the upper station on the boat soon so stay tuned for updates. If you would like to add custom SeaDek to your boat contact Castaway Customs at 321-537-2039 or send me an email at tyler@castawaycustoms.com.

This used 27 Contender went from used and abused to looking new again with the installation of a custom SeaDek floor kit design by Castaway Customs.

It seems in these economic times many people are choosing to buy used boats instead of new boats. The only problem with buying used is sometimes these boats need a little TLC. A recent customer bought a 27′ Contender and decided he was going to fix her up. The non-skid had essentially worn off on the entire cockpit of the boat so he gave me a call. SeaDek provides great traction and is an excellent option instead of reapplying new non-skid. Not only do you not have to worry about slipping, but it also makes a long day on the water much more comfortable and enjoyable due to the cushion of the SeaDek. As you can see from the before and after pictures, the boat looks like a new boat once the installation was finished up. If you would like to deck out your Contender, or any boat for that matter feel free to contact me at 321-537-2039 or email me at tyler@castawaycustoms.com.

Just received a new shipment of Yeti Coolers and will have more on the way shortly. We have a couple of the new 50 QT Yeti Tundra Series in stock. The 50 QT has a couple of cool new features. First of all the size of the cooler is very nice because it is more of a cube shape. The dimensions measure approximately 24″ x 17″ x 18″. It is roughly 3″ taller than the 35 QT and 45 QT models. The added height makes it great to double as a casting platform on the bow of your skiff. Another new feature is a place for a divider in the cooler which will allow you to separate things. While the divider isn’t water tight, it is still a nice feature and like all Yeti Tundra coolers it comes with a nice tray to keep things out of the ice. All coolers come with a free 5mm single color SeaDek cooler pad. We carry all size Yeti Coolers so if you need anything feel free to gives me a call at 321-537-2039 or contact me at tyler@castawaycustoms.com

From large offshore sport fishing boats to bay boats and skiffs, Castaway Customs makes a product that will make your boating experience more safe and comfortable.

Had the opportunity to meet and work with the owner of Deltran Battery Tender. He owns a Triton 24 LTS Pro bay boat and also a 53 Viking sport fishing boat. He decide that he wanted to do work on both of his boat. On the Triton bay boat, he already had a SeaDek helm pad, and decided he wanted to cover the entire front deck. On his larger boat, after taking a look at it we realized that there were many different applications for custom SeaDek. He has a 250 QT Yeti Tundra cooler that he uses as a fish box, and also a seat in the cockpit of the boat. we decided to go with a 13mm pad to add extra cushioning for comfort and also put the name of his boat into the pad for that custom touch. Another great application in the cockpit of the boat that we decided to cover were the step box and also the steps going into the cabin of the boat. Once we climbed up the ladder into the upper station of the boat we realized that the upper helm as well as the forward seating area floor would be a nice addition. Check out the pics and if you are interested in any custom SeaDek work feel free to contact me.

If you have ever been digging for grouper or fished off of any offshore boat without coaming bolsters you will know it by the end of the day when your thighs are covered in bruises. Bare fiberglass isn’t a very comfortable surface and that is why many people cover the area you lean against while fighting a fish in the cockpit of their boats. Traditional coaming bolsters are made of foam and vinyl, much like a seat cushion. The problem with vinyl is it requires some up keep and also tends to mold and mildew after a while. Traditional coaming bolsters are very expensive and also require drilling many holes in the boat to attach the pad. SeaDek coaming bolsters take care of all the problems associated with traditional bolsters. Since SeaDek bolsters are made of a UV protected EVA foam formulated for the marine environment, you don’t have to worry about them fading, cracking, or mildewing like a vinyl bolster would. The EVA foam is also a closed cell foam so if you were to accidentally stick a gaff into it, you not have to worry about the pads absorbing or holding water. The application, like all SeaDek products, is an easy peel and stick application so it takes no time to make your boat more comfortable. Check out the video below to see how easy the installation is. We can manufacture the coaming bolsters in any of the stock SeaDek colors so we can make something that will look great on your boat. Castaway Customs carries stock sizes bolsters and specializes in custom applications. Feel free to contact us with dimensions of your boat for a quote. You can reach me at tyler@castawaycustoms.com.
